Mikhail Gnedovsky


Mikhail B. Gnedovsky is director of the Cultural Policy Institute in Moscow. He is the former director of the Arts and Culture Program of the Open Society Institute, Moscow. His fields of interest include cultural communication, cultural networks development, and the modernization of cultural institutions. Dr. Gnedovsky is a former senior researcher at the Center of Museum Planning and Design of the Russian Institute for Cultural Research, Moscow. From 1991 to 1998, he served as a trainer providing educational seminars for cultural managers and museum curators. He also worked as a museum consultant and free-lance journalist for several Russian periodicals. Currently a member of the European Museum Forum Committee, he has also been on the Board of Experts for the First, Second, and Third Museum Biennale in Krasnoyarks. Dr. Gnedovksy holds a Ph.D. in museology from the Russian Institute for Cultural Research. He is an alumnus of Salzburg Seminar Session 387, Museums in the 21st Century, 2001; and Cultural Institutions in Transition, 2002.
