Martin Kalungu-Banda currently works as special consultant to the President of the Republic of Zambia, with a goal of establishing a new position of Chief of Staff in the President's cabinet. Until March 2005, he was senior policy advisor and head of the private sector team for Oxfam Great Britain. He also serves as a co-faculty member of the HRH The Prince of Wales's Business and the Environment Programme, University of Cambridge Programme for Industry. Previously, he worked for BP Africa as regional social performance manager based in Cape Town, South Africa, and as corporate affairs manager for BP Zambia. In 1998, he founded the Partnership Forum in Zambia, an organization dedicated to brokering partnerships, between business, government, and civil society. He received his bachelor's degree in development studies and philosophy from the University of Zambia, and a diploma in philosophy and anthropology from the Zambia National Seminary. He also holds a master's degree in public affairs from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
