Antonella Mei-Pochtler

Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group, Antonella Mei-Pochtler Advisory GmbH, Austria / Italy

Dr. Antonella Mei-Pochtler is an Italian businesswoman, and strategy leader with deep experience in the global consumer, media and technology sectors, both as advisor and executive. She was a member of The Boston Consulting Group's (BCG) global executive committee, its top leadership team, and held a number of key management positions until 2018 in Europe and globally with a focus on digital transformation, strategy, and organizational development. She was named amongst the top 25 consultants worldwide by Consulting magazine and was honored with the Women Leaders in Consulting Lifetime Achievement award in 2013. From 2018-2022 she was Special Advisor to the Austrian Federal Chancellor and Head of ThinkAustria, the Austrian government's think tank and strategic planning unit. On behalf of the Austrian government she is the co-chair of the KofiAnnanAward for Innovation in Africa, a joint initiative of the African and European Union.

Mrs Mei-Pochtler currently serves as non-executive director on various international Boards: Generali Group S.p.A., Publicis SA, ProSieben Group SE, Westwing SE, Eni Plenitude SpA, iSi Automotive Holding and in the not-for-profit area at TUM Venture Labs and European Forum Alpbach and was until recently an IFC nominated director for SIPRA in West Africa. She is also involved in a range of social causes and activities, particularly regarding equity in education as long-time advisory board member of Teach for All and co-founder of the award winning education project Business@School. She also created the Brand Club, a platform for CEOs of international brands and media companies in the German speaking region and co-founded the Phorms School network in Germany.

Dr. Mei-Pochtler, an Italian citizen, was educated in the German School in Rome, in the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, the Università La Sapienza in Rome, and at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, where she obtained her MBA with distinction. She is bilingual in Italian and German, and fluent in English and French. Her home base is Vienna, Austria, where she lives with her family. Antonella is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
