Ljubisa Krgovic

Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Podgorica

LjubiĊĦa KRGOVIC was appointed president of the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro in Podgorica by the Parliament of the Republic in March 2001. Before his election to the Bank, he served as president of the Montenegro Securities Exchange and as deputy prime minister of the Government of Montenegro for the financial system and public spending. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Krgovic served as vice governor of the National Bank of Yugoslavia, and from 1992 to 1994, he was advisor to the Prime Minister in the Government of Montenegro. Mr. Krgovic began his career as a researcher at the Economics Institute of the University of Montenegro. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro in 1980, and earned an M.A. in international economics from Belgrade University in 1990.
