Kira Vinke

Research Analyst, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research for the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU)

Kira Vinke is a research analyst at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research for the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU). In 2012 and 2013 Ms. Vinke was a visiting research fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi. Her last research projects in India focused on water security and governance in the energy sector. Currently, she is engaged with the topic of climate change and displacement as part of her doctoral research. She recently conducted a study for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) on the nexus between climate change and migration into vulnerable cities in four different locations in Bangladesh. She holds a master's degree in international relations from Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Universität Potsdam. She completed her undergraduate studies at Hawai'i Pacific University and spent time studying abroad at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain and Obirin Daigaku, Tokyo, Japan.
