Kwan-Chi Oh (Co-Chair) has been president of Pohang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (POSCO) Research Institute in Seoul since March 1998. Before joining the Institute, he worked for the Korea Institute for Defense Analysis for twenty years. He also worked for the Korean Government and taught at Soongsil University in Seoul. His research encompasses issues regarding the North Korean economy, inter-Korean affairs, defense strategy, Korea-US-Japan security cooperation, regional and inter-Korean arms control, and counter-proliferation. Dr. Oh studied economics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and was a visiting scholar in a peace studies program at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He received a B.S. in general engineering from the Korea Military Academy, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Vanderbilt University.
