Andreas M. Rickert is particularly interested in promoting civil society and supporting
exchange between social and private sector regarding tools, personnel and attitudes. This 'inter-sectoral' approach is also reflected in his own career. In December 2009, Dr. Rickert became the CEO of PHINEO - act to impact, Germany. PHINEO provides information for donors, foundations and corporate citizenship departments mainly based on impact analyses. Prior to initiating PHINEO, he served as director at Bertelsmann Stiftung for two years being responsible for projects related to the third sector. From 2004 to 2008, Dr. Rickert worked as project manager with McKinsey and Company where his focus was on public sector and healthcare industry in Europe and the Middle East. He holds a Ph.D in molecular genetics from the Max-Planck-Institute in Cologne and from Stanford University in Palo Alto. Before that, he studied biology at the universities of Düsseldorf, Davis and Bonn.
