John Mack

Professor, Department of World Studies and Museology, East Anglia University, Norwich

John Mack is professor of World Art Studies at the

University of East Anglia, Norwich, where his teaching and research

areas include the arts of Africa, the linkage between memory, heritage

and the visual center. Prior to his current position he was senior keeper

and keeper of Ethnography at the British Museum, and was the director

of the Museum of Mankind before it was reincorporated into the

British Museum. John Mack holds a PhD from the University of Oxford,

an MA in the history of ideas, and a B.A. in social anthropology,

both from the University of Sussex.
