Igor Ovtchinnikov

Deputy Director, Golubka Training Center; Board Member, InterTraining, International Public Association of Trainers and Consultants, Moscow

Igor Ovtchinnikov is deputy director of the Golubka Training Center, in Moscow, Russia, where he is responsible for designing and facilitating NGO training programs throughout the countries of the former Soviet Union. He is also the founder and chair of the board of InterTraining (International Public Organization of Trainers and Consultants), an international association of NGO consultants and trainers and one of Russia's first NGO networks. Mr. Ovtchinnikov has been active in the field of civic education for more than thirteen years, and specializes in training, non-violent conflict resolution, group process and facilitation, democratic leadership, NGO organizational development and management, and community participation. He is a former project coordinator and interpreter in the Family Medicine Exchange Program of the Ministry of Health, and was an interpreter/translator for International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War. He received an M.A. in higher education at the Moscow State Linguistic Academy. Mr. Ovtchinnikov is a Fellow of Salzburg Seminar Session 389, Linking Theory and Practice in Nonprofit Leadership and Management, 2001, and a Fellow of Salzburg Seminar/Fetzer Institute Local and Community Leadership: Looking Within.
