Helen Donoghue

Principal Administrator, European Commission, Directorate for Energy and Transport, Brussels

Helen Donoghue serves as principal administrator of energy policy and security of energy supply in the Directorate-General for Transport and Energy at the European Commission in Brussels. She joined the Commission in 1983 and has since served in the DG for Environment, concentrating on sustainable consumption, and also in the DG for Research and Technology, where she worked in several areas including energy, environment, and sustainable development. Ms. Donoghue holds an M.S. in statistics and operational research from Trinity College, and a B.S. in experimental physics and mathematics from the National University of Ireland, Dublin. She was a Fellow at Salzburg Seminar Session 368, Scientific Development and the Democratic Process, 1999.
