Alison W. Conner is professor of law at the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaii, and is currently serving as a Fulbright Professor in Tsinghua University's School of Law in Beijing, China. Before joining the faculty in Hawaii in 1995, Professor Conner spent five years in private practice in New York and then taught law in Asia for nearly twelve years. From 1983 to 1984, she served as a Fulbright professor at Nanjing University, and from 1984 to 1986, she was a senior lecturer at the National University of Singapore. Professor Conner taught Hong Kong and Chinese law at the University of Hong Kong from 1986 to 1995. She currently teaches courses on Chinese comparative and corporate law, and writes on Chinese legal history as well as modern Chinese law. Professor Conner received her Ph.D. in modern Chinese history from Cornell University, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Professor Conner served on the Faculty of Salzburg Seminar Session 373, China and the Global Community, 1999.
