Lee Sheehy

Lee Sheehy is director of the Region & Communities program at The McKnight Foundation, a family foundation based in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. Region and Communities' work promotes a 21st century competitive region by increasing efficient and sustainable regional metropolitan development that creates livable communities and expands opportunities for all to thrive. Prior to McKnight, Sheehy served as chief of staff for U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar for two years. Previously he was executive director of Community Planning and Economic Development for the City of Minneapolis, overseeing planning and development functions; regional administrator of the Metropolitan Council, directing the council's planning, transit and wastewater functions; and chief deputy to Minnesota Attorney General Hubert Humphrey. Sheehy received his B.A. from Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his law degree from the University of Minnesota.
