Gideon A. Rachman

Chief Foreign Affairs Editor, Financial Times, London

Gideon Rachman is the chief foreign affairs commentator for the Financial Times in London. He writes a weekly column on foreign affairs as well as a Financial Times blog. He has reported over the past year from the United States, China, India, Georgia, and the European Union. Before joining the Financial Times in 2006, he worked for The Economist for fifteen years in a range of jobs, including foreign correspondent in Brussels, Bangkok, and Washington. Mr. Rachman has also written for numerous other publications, including the Washington Quarterly and Prospect Magazine. Mr. Rachman read history at Cambridge University and has been a visiting fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, New Jersey.
