Gabriele Mueller-Trimbusch


Gabriele Mueller-Trimbusch is the deputy mayor for welfare, youth, and health of the City of Stuttgart, Germany, a position she has held since 1990. In 1998, she was re-elected for another eight-year term. From 1990 to 1993, Ms. Mueller-Trimbusch was the deputy mayor for welfare and schools of Stuttgart. From 1971 until 1990, she was assistant director of English language and literature for the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Stuttgart, where she taught in the area of applied and theoretical linguistics. Ms. Mueller-Trimbusch organized and directed the 5th World Congress for Applied Linguistics. She has been involved with numerous community-based organizations including serving as president of the Single Parent Organization in Stuttgart from 1990 to 1992. Ms. Mueller-Trimbusch is an alumna of Salzburg Seminar Session 382, Youth and Civic Participation: Models for Engagement, 2000.
