Frank Sesno is professor of public policy and communication at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where his teaching focuses on the media and its impact on the shape and direction of public policy. He is currently the host of his own public television series, Sesno Reports, and he is involved in the making of documentaries. His recent projects include a biography on the life and legacy of President Ronald Reagan and a program on US election reform. Mr. Sesno is former senior vice president and Washington bureau chief for CNN. During his seventeen years with CNN, Mr. Sesno served in numerous roles. From 1984 to 1991, he was CNNs White House correspondent. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Sesno co-anchored The International Hour and The World Today. From 1990 to 1997, he hosted Late Edition with Frank Sesno, where he interviewed politicians, world leaders, and civic leaders. As CNN executive director, Mr. Sesno directed coverage and oversaw a major reorganization of the newsroom, and provided on-air reporting and analysis of major US and international news events. Prior to 1984, he worked with Associated Press Radio as White House, national, and overseas correspondent based in London, United Kingdom. Mr. Sesno received a B.A. in American history from Middlebury College in Vermont, and served on the Faculty of Salzburg Seminar Session 407, Professional Responsibility in the News Media, 2003.
