The Salzburg Global Seminar is located at Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria.

Travel to our location is possible in a variety of ways:

By Plane:
Direct flights to
Salzburg Airport (SZG) are available from several European cities including but not restricted to Vienna, Frankfurt am Main, Brussels, London, etc. Some airlines with flights to Salzburg include:

By Train:

Salzburgs main train station (Salzburger Hauptbahnhof also Salzburg Hbf) is located on a main rail route between Vienna and Munich and is served frequently each day by trains traveling this route. For train times to Salzburg please check the homepage of the Austrian National Railways.

By Airport Shuttle:
Since it is sometimes less expensive to fly into Munich (the closest hub airport - 2hrs from Salzburg), many participants choose to travel from Munich Airport to Salzburg via the airport shuttle, Salzburger Mietwagen Service, which picks travelers up at their gate and delivers them by van to locations in Salzburg. This service should be reserved in advance via their homepage or by telephone: +43 (0)662 81 61-0. The company also offers private car service. The Salzburg Global Seminar is glad to help make reservations for these services.

By Taxi:
For those arriving in Salzburg at the airport or train station, taxis are the easiest way to reach to our location "Schloss Leopoldskron." The taxi drivers tend to speak English quite well, and all know our location. The ride should take about ten to twenty minutes, depending on traffic, and cost about thirteen Euros.

By Car:
Schloss Leopoldskron is located at 56-58 Leopoldskronstrasse, 5020 Salzburg.
Instructions from the highway are as follows:

  • Head for Salzburg on the A1 Westautobahn (this is the highway that runs between Munich and Vienna).
  • Leave the motorway at the Salzburg airport (Flughafen) exit and take the right arm of the exit towards the large shopping complex (and traffic circle)
  • Continue straight through the traffic circle, and through the underpass (keep left).
  • Turn left at the traffic light onto Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse.
  • Follow the Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse through the tunnel under the airport runway towards Salzburg's center (Zentrum).
  • You will then come to a T-junction, regulated by traffic lights, where you should turn right onto the Maxglaner Hauptstrasse.
  • Follow this somewhat winding road through the suburb of Maxglan. Past the many small stores, you will drive around a sharp curve to the right, and find a traffic light immediately after the curve. On the left is Poseidon, a large Greek Restaurant, and on the right Gasthof Riedenburg.
  • Turn right at this intersection onto the Moosstrasse.
  • After about 500 meters, turn left at the second traffic light onto Nussdorferstrasse (this street becomes the Leopoldskronstrasse).
  • Follow this road for approximately one kilometer.
  • Schloss Leopoldskron is located on the right, just after the Leopoldskroner Freibad (public swimming pool).
  • At the intersection where the road continues straight or left, you will notice a large iron gate and the Salzburg Global Seminar sign. Turn right here into the entrance of the Salzburg Global Seminar. The gate automatically opens inwardly when a car approaches it.
