Internship Programs at Salzburg Global

Are you passionate about helping to shape a better world? Are you hungry to put your classroom learning to work and gain real world knowledge and skills? Do you want to work in an international team in an inspiring environment?

Apply for an internship with Salzburg Global!

Salzburg Global is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1947 to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world. Our two main offices are located in Salzburg, Austria, and Washington, D.C.

We convene outstanding talent across generations, cultures, and sectors to inspire new thinking and action, and to connect local innovators with global resources. We foster lasting networks and partnerships for creative, just and sustainable change.

Our interns are selected from across the world in a highly competitive process. While undergraduates who have completed at least three years of accredited study may apply, preference is given to recent college graduates or to those in early-stage graduate studies whose interests and skills align well with Salzburg Global’s programs and activities.

We make every effort to select a diverse group of interns and to align their general and specific assignments to maximize both the learning experience interns receive and the contribution they can make.

Salzburg Global offers a number of internship programs (non-accredited), which allow interns to not only enhance their skills and knowledge, but also access its impressive network of Salzburg Global Fellows.

Applications for our Salzburg-based internships are now closed, as we received an extraordinary number of submissions. We sincerely thank all candidates for their interest and enthusiasm. Applicants can expect to receive updates on their application status in November and December 2024. To stay informed and be notified when applications reopen, please subscribe to our mailing list.

We've listed the internships open for application below to learn more about them. Our Internship Program is specially designed for young professionals.

Salzburg Global is an equal-opportunity employer. We aim to be an exemplary international institution in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion of our workforce. We strongly encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds (including communities of color, the LGBT* community, and people with disabilities) to apply and join us in our work.

* LGBT: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. We are using this term as it is currently widely used in human rights conversations on sexual orientation and gender identity in many parts of the world, and we would wish it to be read as inclusive of other cultural concepts, contemporary or historical, to express sexuality and gender, intersex and gender non-conforming identities.
