International Non-profit Development Internship (Individual Giving and Campaign) (Washington, DC)

Salzburg Global has offices in Salzburg, Austria and Washington, DC, USA.


We seek a part-time intern for our individual giving and campaign team in the Washington, DC office to assist with fundraising-related activities. Candidates must have the necessary paperwork for working in the United States. The intern will report to the Director for Campaign and Individual Giving.

Graduate students, recent college graduates, and undergraduate rising juniors and seniors are welcome to apply.


Typical projects:

  • Conduct research on potential individual donors and summarize findings for meeting briefs
  • Draft proposals, appeals, letters, acknowledgements, social media content, and talking points
  • Conduct data entry and analytics for team metrics and goals
  • Assist with event planning and execution, including list management

Helpful academic or professional backgrounds:

  • Non-profit management, fundraising, communications, marketing, education, international relations, journalism, and German studies

Other requirements: 

The candidate must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities. Candidates must also be comfortable working with people in different time zones, from diverse cultural backgrounds and at all levels of the organization in a creative, but formal and professional environment, e.g. business attire is required. Enthusiasm for our global mission, exceptional organizational and writing skills, attention to detail, internet research and Microsoft Office Suite skills are required. Experience working with databases and a demonstrated interest in Austrian culture are preferable.


This internship is based at the Salzburg Global offices in Washington, DC and does not include travel to Salzburg, Austria.
