Hong Kong Universities Internship

The Hong Kong Universities Internship is for students about to enter, currently enrolled or recently graduated from a university in Hong Kong. It has been made possible thanks to the support of our generous donors. Salzburg Global offers a two to three-month internship (non-accredited) to promising young people worldwide. We actively seek highly qualified students with excellent English skills for this purpose. Intern duties are critical to the development, administration, and management of Salzburg Global Seminar programs.

As part of the internship, you will have unique opportunities to build relationships with thought-leaders and change-makers worldwide. Interns must be comfortable meeting and interacting with program participants and able and willing to be a critical part of day-to-day administrative and operational tasks. Strong skills and experience with computers and IT are essential.

Typical duties include:

  • Researching potential program topics, partners, and participants, including compiling biographies;
  • Assisting in preparing program-related materials before each program;
  • Ensuring the smooth running of programs by providing event management and technical support (recording lectures, controlling the sound system, passing around microphones, showing visuals on the presentation screen, etc.);
  • Supporting program team and participants throughout the program and providing operational support;
  • Notetaking during online meetings/programs
  • Providing database support
  • Providing administrative support such as updating/standardizing internal documents, printing, copying, and mailing;

Skills required:

  • Enthusiasm for the mission of Salzburg Global Seminar;
  • Recently completed or in the process of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a demonstrable interest in one of Salzburg Global’s program areas. Where possible, interns will be assigned projects directly connected to their specific skills and interests;
  • A can-do attitude, ability to multi-task, being proactive, and a willingness to work flexible hours according to program needs;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English, including the ability to edit text;
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds;
  • Proficiency in internet research and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • German language skills are not required.

OTHER INFORMATION  

The internship is full-time for two or three months. The position is unpaid, but we will provide the successful candidate with free on-site accommodation at Schloss Leopoldskron, all meals, travel from and return to the intern’s country of residence, insurance, and visa processing assistance. We will also provide excellent networking opportunities with the international participants of our programs.
