Position description: 
The Development Coordinator will be an integral member of the Washington, DC based team, working across the Development and President’s Office to provide general office support for day-to-day operations as well as special events. Normal office hours are 9:00am – 5:30pm. Limited work in the evenings and weekends may be necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of the fall Cutler Lecture series, the winter Salzburg Cutler Fellows Program, and regional and international Campaign events;
  • Conduct research regarding potential institutional donors, summarize findings and make recommendations regarding follow up;
  • Research and provide draft briefing documents to prepare executives for external meetings and fundraising calls;
  • Draft letters and correspondence on behalf of the President and Campaign teams;
  • Assist with drafting grant reports to be submitted to foundations, government agencies, and corporation in the US and globally;
  • Provide assistance to the President, CFO, and Assistant to the President ahead of and during the Board meetings by specifically helping prepare the Board reports and books (editing, formatting, copies), presentation formatting, graphics development, note-taking at meetings, and event logistics;
  • Administrative tasks as required, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, hospitality of office guests, mail, ordering supplies, kitchen duties, preparing and executing mass direct mailings, preparing shipping labels; and
  • Data entry for Raiser’s Edge (RE7) and other list-management software, including clean-up of RE7 ahead of an upgrade to “the cloud”; input of wealth screening completed through iWave; entering in contact reports for President and Campaign team.


Desired skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in an office setting, including internships;
  • Excellent writing and internet research skill
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Proficiency with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising databases and Adobe Suite products highly desired;
  • Enthusiasm for the global mission of the organization;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities; and
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit resourcefulness.

Reporting: 
The Development Coordinator will report to the Development Manager, Campaign and Donor Relations.
