Organization-Related Holocaust Education
The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme – In 2005, the United Nations general Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/60/7, designating January 27 International Holocaust Remembrance Day and urged member states “to develop educational programmes that will inculcate future generations with the lessons of the Holocaust in order to help to prevent future acts of genocide.” The Outreach Programme compiles and disseminates research about Holocaust pedagogy and provides educational material for the regional United Nations Information Centres and interested audiences. For instance, the Programme publishes discussion papers, organizes roundtable discussions, and hosts a film series.

The United Nations Information Centers (UNICs) – The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme partners with UNICs to distribute resources and to develop programs for member states. Most resources and programs revolve around the commemoration of the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance. UNICs also organize teacher trainings, film screenings, and exhibits.
