Guy De lancey

Associate director, Barnard College Movement Lab, United States of America

Guy de Lancey is a conceptual detective in multiple disciplines. He is the associate director of the Movement Laboratory for research and practice in performance, movement, emerging technology and creativity at Barnard College, Columbia University, USA. He was awarded a research grant to attend Fabrica, the Benetton Arts and Communications Research Center, Italy, in collaboration with film director Godfrey Reggio and Benetton campaign director Oliviero Toscani. He works in theatre, film, and creative technology. He has worked extensively in the performing arts as both director and designer and has created and designed large scale immersive multi-media experiences from Seoul, South Korea to South Africa. He worked and travelled throughout Africa as acting head regional coordinator for ASWA (African Sex Worker Alliance) doing human rights advocacy, teaching in theatre of the oppressed narrative techniques and ICT capacity building. He brings a range of experience in narrative forms and research in technology and communication.
