Serena Marija is the founder & director of Sanctuary of Creation, a pioneering new media art lab that launched in 2023. Dedicated to producing and distributing in-house original new media art creations, immersive experiences for the physical and virtual worlds, spatial design, and rigorous research and development initiatives to explore the impact of exposure to new media art in aiding personal transformation and a sense of wellbeing. Furthermore, Marija has established her own new media art content studio, where she hones her craft as a self-taught new media artist, devising her own original techniques centered around digital deconstruction and dissection, all underpinned by a commitment to ethical practice. In addition, Marija brings over a decade of experience working within the film & TV industry, encompassing performance art, screenwriting, and creative production. In terms of her academic background, she holds an M.A. in Creative Business for Entrepreneurs & Executives, from the National Film & Television School.
