Akihiko Mori

Journalist, Japan

Akihico Mori is a Kyoto-based science journalist and writer who seeks an intersectional approach between journalism and art. His main interest is social critiques on interaction between emerging technology/science and humanity. He writes for WIRED's Japanese edition, MIT Technology Review Japan, and other platforms. He joined the Journalist in Residence program in Waseda University as a research assistant. In an ongoing project, 'The ARTIFICIAL ADVISORY', he explores human autonomy in the age of generative AI-based media environments through artistic experimentation and journalistic investigation. Akihico did a media research project titled "Science Journalism in The Infodemic related to COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020, its Challenges and Evolution", in collaboration with science journalists including those at the BBC and WIRED, and the project was featured by Italian newspaper Sudtiroler Wirtschaftszeitung and others. Akihico studied media communication (M.A. in Media, Communications and Critical practice) at University of the Arts London (UAL).
