Lina Walker

Lina Walker is Senior Vice President of Global Thought Leadership at AARP, where she heads AARP's International and Thought Leadership departments. She leads her team to catalyze opportunities from increased longevity so all can thrive with healthier, financially resilient, and connected lives. Dr Walker also co-leads AARP's health care strategy. Her purview spans the range of health care issues that are top of mind for the 50+. Dr Walker has deep and broad knowledge of aging issues, having spent over 20 years working to strengthen access to healthcare, long-term care, and financial security. She draws from her multisectoral experience working in academia, state government, congressional agency, and the non-profit sector to uncover actionable solutions, leverage partnerships, build programs, and seed change. Dr Walker sits on the board of The Leapfrog Group, a non-profit, patient-safety and data transparency organization. She serves on the advisory board of the National Poll on Healthy Aging at the University of Michigan. She holds a master's and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Michigan. She is an avid gardener and lives with her family in Washington D.C.
