Sue Matthews

Chief Executive Officer, The Royal Women's Hospital, Australia

Professor Sue Matthews is CEO of the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. She has held leadership positions in acute care, home and community care and government. She sits on a number of Boards and advisory committees including: the National Women's Health Advisory Council, the Victorian Women's Health Advisory Council and Chairs the Victorian Healthcare Association. Sue holds a Doctor of Public Health and a Master's in Health Science Nursing from Charles Sturt University, a Bachelor of Liberal Arts - Health Studies from York University, a Diploma in Nursing from Ryerson University and is a Fellow of the Wharton School of Business. She holds academic roles at University of Melbourne, La Trobe University and Trent University. A recipient of numerous awards Professor Matthews was named as one of Canada's top 100 most powerful women and received the Canadian Nurses Association Centennial Award. The Women's was awarded the Premier's Health Service of the Year 2023.
