Judy Monroe

President & CEO, CDC Foundation, USA

Dr. Judy Monroe has over forty years of experience in medicine and public health. She has been the president and CEO of the CDC Foundation since 2016. The Foundation supports the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's lifesaving work across the U.S. and in over 100 countries. Prior to this role she served as a deputy director of CDC and the state health officer for Indiana. Before her appointment by Governor Mitch Daniels to lead the state health department she practiced family medicine and directed a residency program at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis and served on the faculty of the IU School of Medicine. Dr. Monroe began her clinical career practicing in rural Tennessee where her passion for women's health was ignited along with a systems approach to problem solving.
