Emily is a professor of music of the Technical University of Kenya and Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs at the Cooperative university of Kenya. She was the immediate past President of the International Music Council (IMC) and is the current president of the International Society for Music Education. Her music education and research activities cover relevance of training and education as well as empowerment of youth through creativity development. She received a BEd from Kenyatta University, Kenya , MMus from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Natchitoches, La, USA and Doctor of Philosophy from Kingston University, Surrey, UK. Emily is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
