Ashlee Burnett

Co- Coordinator, Transform Education hosted by UNGEI, Trinidad and Tobago

Ashlee Burnett is queering, querying, and carrying the Caribbean forward. The Trinbagonian-born educator and advocate is a 2022 Chevening Scholar pursuing an MSc Education (Policy and International Development) at the University of Bristol. She is a 2020 Women Deliver Young Leader. With a BA in English Language and Literature, Ashlee is reimagining the world through a feminist lens using critical pedagogy and gender-transformative education. She is the founder of Feminitt Caribbean, an Intersectional Caribbean Feminist NGO where she leads a dynamic and passionate core team and volunteers that uses education, social good, and conversation to advance Gender Justice in the Caribbean. She has been appointed as an Advisor to the Global Advisory Committee for the Caribbean region at FRIDA, The Young Feminist Fund and serves as the Co-Coordinator of Transform Education. Formerly, Ashlee worked as a Teaching Artist for four years teaching and co-developing curricula to address gender-based violence and violence extremism to secondary school students in communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
