Andwele Bryan is the Head of Gender, Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) at Porticus and Laudes Foundation. In this shared role, he is responsible for integrating GESI across both organisations. This includes strengthening knowledge and capacity of staff and partners working in multiple sectors including education. Previous to this role, he led a business development team with a focus on increasing a portfolio of emergency and humanitarian assistance programmes, which included a focus on gender transformative practices in education in emergencies. He has extensive experience integrating gender and social inclusion in large-scale education, governance, health and livelihoods programmes, acquired during his time working in South Africa, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Lebanon and Canada. He holds a B.A. in political science and communication studies from York University and a M.A. in international politics and security studies from the University of Bradford.
