Tomoo Nakayama

Project Officer, TOBITATE! Study Abroad Initiative, Japan

Tomoo Nakayama is a youth development professional currently involved in a public- private joint national project of "TOBITATE! Study Abroad Initiative" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) as a project officer. He's responsible for global partnership coordination, which cultivates momentum for Japanese young youths to actively participate in the global society and tackle global issues. Its flagship scholarship has been supporting over 9,000 Japanese youths based on the donation by all-Japan society which is reaching over 100,000,000 U.S. dollars for creating a good impact in this society. Prior to joining TOBITATE! Study Abroad Initiative, Tomoo worked over 11 years in the private education company called Shonan Seminar Co., Ltd. headquartered in Kanagawa, Japan, which holds over 30,000 students mainly from elementary to high school in over 200 locations as a group manager in the Intercultural Education Office. He holds a B.A. in international studies from Meijigakuin University, Japan.
