Nita Aggarwal

Program Manager, Porticus Asia, India

Nita is working as a Programme Manager for Porticus Asia based in India. She is responsible for India's grant management activities, designing, monitoring and enabling systems-driven education initiatives in India. She's focused on Whole Child Development, looking at non-academic skills such as Social Emotional Learning and resilience, creating learning ecosystems that are responsive to the child. Apart from this, she's managing the Active citizenship and gender strand for work in Asia. Before joining Porticus, she's served in the senior leadership team of various NGOs and INGOs, which include the Language and Learning Foundation, READ Alliance, Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) and Room to Read (RtR) India Trust. She thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has led to tremendous growth in setting up country chapters for RtR and ARK. She briefly worked with British Council in India to anchor the library and arts initiatives for India and Sri Lanka. She's trained as an elementary teacher from Delhi University, India and holds Master's degree in Sociology.
