Helen Maunder

Local Policing Coordinator, National Police Chiefs Council, United Kingdom

Helen has over 20 years experience working across UK policing including with other public and private sectors. Primarily criminal justice focused, she has created many innovative ways to collaborate with partners and more recently as the NPCC Local Policing Coordinator, supporting and identifying best practice and strategies across all United Kingdom police forces. Helen is a 'pracademic' and has just embarked upon her second year of study with the University of Cambridge towards a Masters in Applied Criminology and Police Management. Her thesis will explore how police recruitment responds to neurodivergent conditions. She also holds a Certificate in Social Sciences and alongside her professional role, she is an active volunteer within communities, from Citizens Advice, Local Education Authority to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. Her specific interest is the development of Public Health Approaches in Policing and how to instil trust and confidence across partnerships in sharing data to prevent harm, especially to children, from happening at the earliest opportunity. Helen is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
