Gerrit Wiesmann

Freelance Writer, Berlin, Germany

Gerrit Wiesmann is a freelance writer based in Berlin. He has written for The Economist, The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Cicero, Monopol, Arte Magazin and many others. Before that, he spent two decades as a politics, economics and business correspondent for The Financial Times and Dow Jones Newswires in Berlin, Bonn, Zurich and London. As a freelancer, he writes mainly about arts and culture. He also helps business people, policymakers and academics communicate their ideas in print. Over the last five years, he has taught journalistic writing and creative non-fiction to English-language M.A. students at the Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirtschaft (HMKW) in Berlin. Gerrit holds a degree in English literature from Cambridge University.
