Khet Long

Co-Founder, Youth for Peace and Founder, Peace Institute of Cambodia, Cambodia

Khet Long is the co-founder of a local civil society organization called Youth for Peace, established in 1999, and he served as an executive director until December 2016. He is also the founder of the Peace Institute of Cambodia, which aims to promote a culture of peace and culture of democracy in Cambodia and its region. He carried out action research on initiating a way to address the legacy of memory in Cambodia. Furthermore, he was involved in consultancy work and other research projects in Cambodia, plus engagements in regional peace and community memory initiatives. Khet has more than 18 years experience working with a broad range of civil society actors, particularly in the fields of transitional justice, peacebuilding, memory, and reconciliation

in Cambodia and globally. He has been instrumental in the development of peace, leadership, and reconciliation programs for young people in Cambodia. Khet holds a master's degree in applied conflict transformation from Pannasastra University, Cambodia, and the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies.
