Sha Elijah is the attorney general of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, a new political entity established in 2019. She serves as chief legal counsel to the chief minister and chief legal advisor to the Bangsamoro Cabinet. She is also co-head of the Intergovernmental Relations Body Joint Secretariat which helps settle and resolve issues between the Bangsamoro Government and the National Government in a non-adversarial manner. She is dedicated to ensuring that the justice systems, including Shari'ah, work in the region. After passing the Philippine Bar in 2007, Sha Elijah joined Buñag & Uy Law Offices, specializing in taxation, corporate, and labor laws. In addition to an expertise in Philippine law, procedure, and jurisprudence, she has a background in government and a Bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Philippines, Diliman. Sha Elijah is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
