Ege Yildirim

Independent Heritage Planning Consultant / Scholar, Istanbul, Turkey

Ege Yildirim is an independent consultant and part-time academic lecturer based in Istanbul. Since 2015 she has also acted as heritage site manager of the Historic Guild Town of Mudurnu, a UNESCO World Heritage candidate. Ege has extensive knowledge in urban planning and specializes in heritage conservation and management. She is currently the ICOMOS Focal Point for the Sustainable Development Goals, member of ISoCaRP and board member of ICOMOS Turkey and Europa Nostra Turkey. Additionally, Ege works part-time in Gaziantep, Turkey, as key expert for cultural heritage in the EU-Turkey Anatolian Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Institute project. She was a Fulbright Scholar at Pratt Institute, USA (2006-07) and a J.M. Kaplan Senior Fellow for Archaeological Heritage Management in the Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations of KoƧ University (2013-14).
