Maria Fernandez Sabau

María Fernández Sabau is a strategic thinker and policy advisor developing vision and impact strategies for leading institutions in the public, private and third sectors worldwide. She combines an extensive track record in the cultural field with in-depth knowledge of social issues. Helping individuals and organisations identify their purpose and unique contribution to society is at the core of her work. As an independent advisor she supports leaders and Boards identifying trends, setting priorities and developing new initiatives that create positive change. After 15+ years of international consultancy and some years at UNESCO, she is currently Director of Education and Public Programs at Guggenheim Bilbao Museum Foundation, which allows her to inspire and open new perspectives to diverse audiences and collectives, promoting creativity and wellbeing. María is a guest professor at the Inditex Corporate Responsibility Chair, where she teaches corporate policies for social impact, and a member of the Fundación Haz Advisory Board. Her background is in Business Administration and Political Science; she holds a masters in Contemporary Migration, a specialisation in Social Innovation and serves as mindfulness and compassion cultivation instructor, adding a deeper understanding of the human being complexities to all her work. Maria is a Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
