Elif Sözen-Kohl is the chief investment officer and a director of Eagle Advisors, a fund-of-hedge funds based in Geneva catering to institutional investors such as insurance companies and pension funds. She has fifteen years of experience in finance. In 2003, she was asked by the World Bank to serve as advisor to the Turkish Treasury on rationalizing the risk management of the Republic’s US$200bn+ debt. Prior to this, she worked for JP Morgan in London mainly in the emerging markets area both as a banker and in derivatives trading from 1996 to 2000. She served as vice president and head of Emerging Markets Equities Origination. She was with Goldman Sachs from 1993 to 1995 in the debt capital markets group in London after having served in Harvard economist Jeffrey Sachs’ team in Moscow advising the Russian Government. She received a B.Sc. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.Sc. in finance from the London Business School. She spent a year at the Institute for World Economy in Kiel, Germany on international macroeconomic policymaking. Ms. Sözen-Kohl is a member of the Board of Directors of the Salzburg Global Seminar and has participated in numerous seminars.
