Sarah Byakika is the assistant commissioner for quality assurance in the Ministry of Health in Kampala. She is involved in the development of minimum standards of health care and quality assurance in the health sector and coordinates overall health sector monitoring and evaluation. She formerly worked as a district health manager in Jinja District. She holds a fellowship in continuous quality improvement from Makerere University, School of Public Health, an M.Sc. in community health and health management from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Makerere University.
