Robinah Kaitiritimba is the executive director for the Uganda National Health Consumers’ Organization (UNHCO) and a patient champion for the WHO Patient Safety Program. As the lead coordinator for civil society organizations (CSO), she has mobilized over 30 CSOs to rally support for the maternal health petition number 16 and budget advocacy for the health sector. Her other positions of responsibility include membership of the Health Policy Advisory Committee, of Uganda Health Marketing Group, of the National Health Insurance Task Force and of the Public Private Partnership in Health. She also serves on the Makerere University School of Public Health Institutional Review Board. She has made various presentations and done research on various topics at national and international levels including human rights and quality of health. Her greatest contribution has been community empowerment for improving healthcare user participation and overall health outcomes for vulnerable communities and the development of the Patients’ Charter for Uganda. She earned a master’s degree in public administration and management and a B.A. in sociology and political science from Makerere University.
