Hany Hanna is a general director at the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt and a professor at the Higher Institute for Coptic Studies. He is also adviser of the international First Step Forum (FSF) and is founder and former coordinator for the International Council of Museum-Conservation Committee - Wood, Furniture and Lacquer (ICOM-CC- Wood, Furniture and Lacquer). In addition, Hany is a writer, contributing to Egyptian as well as international newspapers. He writes extensively about cultural heritage and human rights and was named "preacher of the Egyptian Revolution" in 2011. Hany chairs, participates, speaks and publishes several papers at various conferences and appears on national and international TV channels, radio, and websites. He holds a Ph.D. in conservation and antiquities from Cairo University, Egypt. Hany is a Fellow of Connecting to the World's Collections: Making the Case for the Conservation and Preservation of our Cultural Heritage, in 2009, and Youth, Economics and Violence: Implications for Future Conflict, in 2015. In addition, he attended Seeking an Interdisciplinary Community for Egypt, in 2010, and Next Generation Leadership for Egypt, in 2012, both held in Egypt.
