Anne Winter is a managing consultant at Global Social Mobilization SA. She specializes in health and development communications, strategic planning, and advocacy. After working for UNICEF in development, education and information, she directed advocacy programs at WHO, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, and UNAIDS, where she was recognized for her work in establishing AIDS as a global political priority. Her mandates, on behalf of UN organizations, governments, foundations and academia, included advocacy for health and social development, capacity building and reputation management. Ms. Winter holds a B.A. in philosophy and French from the University of Birmingham and undertook advanced research work in mass communication for development at the Centre for Mass Communication Research, University of Leicester. She most recently joined us at Session 500, Realizing the Right to Health: How can a rights-based approach best contribute to the strengthening, sustainability and equity of access to medicines and health systems?, in 2012.
