David Goldman is currently an independent consultant where his work focuses on global citizenship, higher education policy related to expanding opportunities for underrepresented populations, and Holocaust memory and education. For over a decade he worked in various capacities at Salzburg Global Seminar, most recently as Associate Director of Education. During this time he focused his energy on the Global Citizenship Program, the Mellon Fellow Community Initiative, and he directing a number of sessions on higher education policy. David's work with the Global Citizenship Program, which he has co-developed since its inception in 2004, focused on working with students, faculty, and administrators from a wide variety of partner colleges and universities to initiate institutional change efforts aimed at transforming their campuses into 'sites of global citizenship.' In addition to content, program and pedagogical design for the Global Citizenship Program, he delivered lectures on ethnocentrism, mapping globalization, and the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. David's higher education policy work focused on educational access, relevance, and success particularly for students from disadvantaged and marginalized communities. A historian by training, David's research interests include global studies, Holocaust memory and education, and African studies. David received a B.A. in history and African studies from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, USA and an M.A. in history from the University of Salzburg, Austria.
