Karla Jiménez is the managing director at Fundación Merced. During the last 16 years, she has been a consultant on institutional strengthening for CSOs and a process facilitator for the strategic planning, formulation and evaluation of social projects using the Logical Framework methodology. She has evaluated proposals to fund projects launched by governments, foundations and businesses. She has spoken at academic, social, and business forums on matters such as private social investment, corporate social responsibility in bonding with a community, social development and philanthropy, and institutional strengthening. She has also spoken on the field of human capital in issues like leadership, teamwork, and results-based work. Karla has coauthored two publications: YOUNG AC's handbook, "Dream into Action" (designed to professionalize collective and community action of young people in Mexico) and "Participatory Diagnoses of Grassroot Development Guide" with RedEAmérica. She is currently a coordinator and representative of the Mexican Node of RedEAmérica, a network promoting grassroots development in Latin America. She has a degree in communication sciences from the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of Monterrey, Mexico and various diplomas in administration and professionalization of non-profit institutions. Karla is currently studying for her master´s degree in business administration at UTEL University, Pearson Education.
