Alessandro Fodella is an associate professor of international law at the University of Trento. He has specialized in international environmental law and international human rights law, with a particular focus on areas such as mountains, transboundary environmental cooperation and governance, biodiversity conservation, civil society participation and indigenous peoples' rights. In these areas, he has authored various publications, has been involved in numerous international negotiations and has worked as a consultant or expert for national and international organizations. Professor Fodella holds a law degree (Laurea in Giurisprudenza) from the University of Milan, an LL.M. from the School of Oriental and African Studies (London), and a Ph.D. in international economic law from Bocconi University (Milan). He has been awarded the Michel Despax Prize for Environmental Law by the Conseil Européen du Droit de l'Environnement and is a member of the Commission of Environmental Law of the World Conservation Union.
