Samuel Oliver is the executive director of the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana. He joined the organization in 2018 from the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. Sam is interested in the role that cultural organizations play as agents of change in communities-for better and worse-and his personal goal is brining equity-informed practices to South Louisiana's cultural sector. An advocate for regional voices in art and performance, Sam loves being deeply rooted in the traditions and people of his home. Sam holds a M.A. in arts and cultural management from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, a certificate in cultural diplomacy from the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, Berlin, and a B.A. in history and latin from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
