B. Thomas Mansbach recently retired as a principal in the Washington office of Russin & Vecchi, LLP, international legal counselors. His law practice focused on international financial transactions, with an emphasis on project finance, corporate transactions, international investment, and political risk insurance. Thomas has represented a variety of corporations and financial institutions, involving projects in over 100 countries in Asia, Latin America, Africa, Central/Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. These projects have involved a variety of industries: power, oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, and construction. He began his career in 1967, working with the political risk insurance and project finance programs of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and its predecessors, where he served in several different capacities, including managing director for, seriatim: Africa, Latin America; natural resources and financial services; Europe, the former USSR and North Asia; and major markets. He is a member of the Cosmos Club and the Arts Club of Washington. Thomas received a B.A. (cum laude) from Yale College and an L.L.B. from Harvard Law School. He is a Senior Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar.
