Katherine L. Keenan is a content creator for Salzburg Global Seminar. She is a proud Houston native and Latina whose passion is to see local communities thrive while making an international impact. In 2015, Katherine participated in the Salzburg Global Seminar on Media & Global Change, which she credits for much of her interest in reporting on world affairs. Before returning to her Houston home, she lived overseas writing for The Jerusalem Post, covering the Arab-Israeli conflict in addition to the vibrant local art scene, archeological discoveries, and ethnic communities. She also spent time during her university years interning at KTBC Fox 7 Austin and writing for The Daily Texan, chasing stories across Texas' capitol city. Katherine received two bachelor's degrees from UT Austin in 2017, one in journalism and another in international relations and global studies with a focus on the Middle East. Katherine has a special knack for polishing writing pieces, editing numerous articles for Forbes Magazine and The Huffington Post, in addition to ghostwriting pieces appearing in cybersecurity journals such as CPO Magazine, Grit Daily and U.S. Cybersecurity Magazine. Most recently, she joined the Apache Corporation as an external communications representative in Houston. Katherine speaks Spanish fluently.
