Yasmine Dabbous is an assistant professor of journalism and media studies at the Lebanese American University. Her research falls at the intersection between media and cultural studies, often -but not always- with a focus on the Middle East and Lebanon. Dabbous has over eight years of experience writing for newspapers and magazines in the Arab World, including the Daily Star newspaper and ArabAd magazine. She worked on freelance basis as researcher for, and scriptwriter of, short and feature documentaries. Between 2003 and 2006, she was a public relations consultant for Hill & Knowlton, both in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Her main client was Pepsico International. Dabbous has a Masters in communication studies from Boston University, and a PhD in mass media and public affairs from the Manship School of Communication at Louisiana State University.
